FCI Otisville (medium-security)
Federal Correctional Institution, Otisville (FCI Otisville) is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates located in Otisville, New York. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. FCI Otisville is part of the Otisville Federal Correctional Complex, which includes the adjacent FCI Otisville Satellite Prison Camp.
Overview
FCI Otisville is a medium-security correctional institution housing male inmates. The facility opened in 1977 and is located approximately 70 miles northwest of New York City in Orange County, New York. The prison is known for housing a significant population of white-collar criminals and has been nicknamed "Club Fed" due to its reputation for housing wealthy and high-profile inmates.
The satellite prison camp (minimum security) adjacent to the main facility has been particularly popular among white-collar offenders due to its proximity to the New York metropolitan area, allowing for easier family visits.
