Cameron earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M University in 1985 and a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Wyoming in 1989. He completed a residency in clinical forensic psychology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship with the U.S. Department of Justice at Butner, North Carolina.[2]
Bureau of Prisons Career
Cameron worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons from 1990 until his retirement in 2013.[2][1] His assignments included work as a therapist at the federal facility in Butner, North Carolina, drug-abuse treatment roles at federal medical centers in Carville, Louisiana and Fort Worth, Texas, and oversight positions in the Bureau's South Central regional office and at its Grand Prairie, Texas, office.[2] His work focused on drug-abuse treatment and the assessment and treatment of sex offenders. He holds Texas credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider Supervisor, and is a clinical member of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse.[2]
