* On August 28, 2010, inmate Harvey Brewer walked away from the minimum-security camp (which has no perimeter fence) but was apprehended attempting to reenter the facility shortly after the midnight head count discovered his absence.
* The facility opened in 2003 and is located in rural central West Virginia, approximately 85 miles northeast of Charleston. The remote location can make family visitation challenging.
